I've been in zine mode all weekend!

This one is about a 1987 mix tape I thrifted. ("Dangerous, Hair-Raising Radical Tones" was the REAL title of the mix!) It's full of hilariously bad songs - pretty obviously taped from the radio by a preteen girl. I wrote a page about each one of her selections.

Since I had some leftover space when I put everything together, I made these micro-journals, which are about 2" X 3". They're blank inside, for recording lists/drawings of good things. I hand-colored 35 of them, each with a unique color scheme. The idea is that they're wallet-sized, to take out and read if you feel kind of glum.

What have you been up to, Glitter??

Cool! I love that that was the actual title of her mix. What a great find!

This is from last month. I made a dinosaur hat for my niece's second birthday:

I love the mixtape zine, scaredsi11y! One of my IRL friends writes most of her zines about mixtapes and music, I'll try to remember to pick up a copy for her.

The dinosaur hat is awesome, too. I hope your niece did some running around and roaring to complete the effect, crookedtree. :)

I realized I had some crafty pictures on my camera:

brilliant e-reader envelope!

I spent more time cutting wood, and made progress on my workbench. Almost finished it and the battery died on the jigsaw when I went to cut the last corner. So I moved on to working on my light table (the white boards) until I pulled apart the work light packaging and discovered they need to be wired to a switch, which I did not have, and do not know how to do. That will have to wait till next week.

I finished four numerology charts this past week and worked on a few more, should finish up a couple more tonight. Here's mine, which I'm constantly changing. (I don't know about posting other people's charts since they're so personal and the ones I've not finished yet don't look too impressive, but this should give an idea of what they look like somewhat when finished)

There's been lots of birthdays lately so I've been pretty busy with it.

Okay, can't seem to get the image to work. :(

I love all the awesome shares...especially the zines and e-reader cover! Cute hats too!

That is so excellent! I've never come across a mix tape while thrifting before. It's nice to think that that one's still living on, and will continue to live on via zine :) I wonder if the original tape-maker will ever come across it...

This is nothing super special, but in the spirit of trying to post more frequently, these are some of the power bracelets I've been making this past week. I've been feeling somewhat sterile about the chainmail lately, so this was a refreshing change of pace to get back to stones, something that feels a little more meaningful to me, again.

I finally just got all my stuff together to take Real Pictures of some recent scarf dyeing endeavors, and my camera battery died two pictures in.

So here is a crummy photobooth picture of one of them - multicolor birds on black.

Weezil, that scarf if really pretty. But can I say something else? I think I always pictured you looking more like your cat - more smushy-faced, and moe disapproving. I mean, I knew you weren't a cat, but avatars can raise some weird expectations, I guess! Haha!

Me too! Also: I have the same lamp as you. I love the scarf - so pretty.

I haven't been taking photos lately b'cos they don't come out how I want them, and it frustrates me. Maybe I'll do that now, since I am supposed to be touting myself round recruitment agencies this afternoon and would rather do ANYTHING else.

Yep, IKEA ('Tertial'). We actually have three of them - they're very cheap but seem to work pretty well for work lighting. I secretly really love Ikea, even though it's awful in a lot of ways.

That is an Ikea lamp. I have two clamped on those tables (which are also from Ikea). Good spotting! And thank you!
