I went to a restaurant tonight and the toilet seat in the bathroom was ocean themed. Like this, but cooler:
And that got me thinking... Are wacky toilet seats heinous, or rad? Like, should I have one in my own home?? What does glitter think??
Some more exciting examples:
What about theme bathrooms in general? Awesome or nawesome? I've seen a few on craftster, like this dental theme bathroom. Would you have a theme bathroom in your house? _________________ The most overlooked thing about Morgan is that she's sort of like a really crappy version of Bea Arthur. |

OMG Morgan, I love you and your random threads!
I think all those toilet seats are pretty rad.
I also like the idea of themed bathrooms, although we don't have one. Doesn't someone on Glitter have a Harry Potter bathroom? _________________ Keats and Yeats are on your side,

Well, Morgan as you know, I was rocking a very awesome "mold and decay" themed bathroom. Haha. That is gone now thankfully.
I personally wouldn't go for a themed bathroom, unless the theme was "huge bath with taps in the middle and a big glass of champagne and my boy in the tub with me" theme. Or you know, just luxurious. I think they can be cool for other people, but not for me. _________________ http://twitter.com/gomarciego |

I don't really go for themed rooms, and when, one day, I have my own house, I don't think I'll be changing my mind on that.
Those odd loo seats are the kind of thing I might think is kind of funny in a pub/ bar/ club/ other public loo, but maybe if I saw one in someone's house I'd think they were a bit.. zany. & not in a good way, in a kids' tv presenter, trying-way-too-hard way. _________________ kittens are cute

In the last house I lived in, I had one roommate who was freakishly into Disney and especially obsesses with the Peter Pan movie. We didn't like her that much (for other reasons). One day one of my other roommates and I saw a Peter Pan themed clear toilet seat cover and it was SO. HARD. not to buy it.
However, aside from that, I am not really a fan. I'm sure there's a wacky toilet seat cover out there I would like, but I haven't seen it yet... _________________ my website and knitting patterns

I have a secret desire for one of those clear toilet seats with the seashells in them. But I could never spend that much on it. _________________ "Fun is where you find it." --jackierocket |

I don't mind the guitar one so much because it just looks like a wooden seat but nicer.
Not really a fan of those clear acrylic ones so much, but that's more because I don't really care for how the plastic looks more than anything else. _________________ Win with me on Swagbucks!

I love them, but my own toilet seat is plain white. This is primarily because I know that if I started with the crazy toilet seats, I'd want a wardrobe of them. And I'm not going there.
A jewelry/coin store I used to go to with my dad a lot, back when I was wee, had two mounted on the wall that were clear plastic with spreads of dollar bills and pennies in pretty designs. I was entranced by them - seriously, you sit on the money, and you poo? They still seem magical to me. _________________ Look into those beady little eyes and just try to tell me that there’s anything going through his head right now other than “BITE BITE BITE BITE BITE BITE BITE BITE BITE BITE BITE”. |

Oh, I called the toilet seat I saw in the restaurant "cooler" than the one I pictured, but I didn't actually mean it was cool. It was just better than the one I did find a picture of. Which wouldn't be hard, because that first photo really really is heinous, right? But... the more I think about ocean themed toilet seats, the funnier I think it is. Like, the water inside is the ocean! Like you're peeing on the beach! & yet you're in a restaurant bathroom in Sweden, too! Very... tropical yet sanitary! So more that I thought the toilet seat was funny, not cool, and I'm wondering if the funniness would translate to my own bathroom.
I've never seen a theme bathroom in real life, but I don't think I'd have one in my own house. I don't think I'm a fan. Although I do hate my bathroom and dream about redoing it allllll the time. _________________ The most overlooked thing about Morgan is that she's sort of like a really crappy version of Bea Arthur. |

| My apartment actually has that exact aquarium-themed toilet seat. It was so not my choice. |

| I can kind of appreciate these for entertainment value and/or creativity, but I would never, ever, ever allow one in my home. I guess I have a problem with anything that calls attention to the thing that we poo in. |

I love this thread. I personally don't want a ridic toilet seat, but I enjoy them here! Haha.
I'm a fan of the theme bathroom, but that dentist bathroom kinda creeped me out. I wouldn't really want to spend much time in there! _________________ flickr |

My aunt and uncle have this fish lure toilet seat in their cabin

It's clear and looks like you're going to sit down on a bunch of sharp hooks. |

our local Trader Joe's has a nautical themed bathroom! I don't remember if it has those toilet seats or not, but the whole thing is done up to look like your on a boat or underwater! It love going to the bathroom there! Are all TJ's bathrooms decorated? _________________ "luckily there are only two seasons in western pa. theres just construction work and snowstorms and either way, they cause a delay" |

I too love Morgan's random threads!
I'm not keen on the plastic seats, mainly because they're plastic. The guitar one was kind of cool but I don't think I'd ever do a themed bathroom in my own house. I could see it being fun in a bar or something though.
The one on Craftster was neat but I don't really like bathrooms with decor that isn't functional. I mean, pictures are okay but I don't like a whole lot of additional stuff lying about. That's probably because I hate housework and extra dusting/cleaning and because my bathroom is tiny anyway. It seems like something fabric as decor (like the straitjacket in that room) would get kind of gross with steam and dust and stuff).
An artist friend of mine was commissioned to paint a portrait of Edgar Allan Poe for a Poe themed bathroom. [/list] |
