|
|
Hi,
Our friends just bought a really cute, old home. Any ideas on some good, crafted housewarming gifts? (perferably not too, too complicated/time-consuming)
thanks! _________________ "I believe in safe spaces and everything, but eventually you got to let everybody who is cool into the party." John Cameron Mitchell |

Vanilla Sugar or Lavender Salt... or any variation on the flavored sugar/salt theme. _________________ You may have to sacrifice a bit of modesty in the name of badassery! -Knittykat |

If her cute old house is anything like my cute old house - COASTERS! Seriously there is not a surface in the house that you can set something down on without a coaster (with the exception of the kitchen counter). You can't set your drink on the floor because the floors are wood and they will get water rings, same with the the coffee table and dinning room table. We have accumulated a large collection of coasters but when we first moved in we had to go buy some ugly ones from Target to do the job. Sewn, knitted, crocheted, tiles with cute design painted are all easy chap ideas for coasters that will absorb well....just make sure they don't soak through if your drink sweats a lot.
Or place mats for the table. |

my favorite present at my last housewarming party was a broom.
i know. but it was a really awesome, tiger-print broom. which makes me thing that fun household supplies are still fun. _________________ xoxpuck

I second the coaster idea! I also have given/received kitchen towels...like tea towel size, embroidered or sewn or with fun trim. I use those things ALL the time..for wiping stuff up, handling hot dishes, in-a-pinch napkins, etc.
Just make sure they are machine washable! _________________ bold.simple.jewelry.

My friend came over with a bottle of wine and two rolls of paper towels. I could get drunk and clean up my spills with the same gift! _________________ my etsy |
