Hey tron! I'm sorry you're not feeling well.
I'm not sure if this helps, but when I had surgery on my stomach and couldn't eat solid food for six weeks, they had me eat a bunch of baby food and pureed fruit so I wouldn't lose too much weight (people who had my kind of surgery could lose up to 45 lbs!). I remember eating a ton of pureed apricot and making 'milkshakes' with milk and ice cubes and maybe a *bit* of real ice cream - anything larger than that would get stuck in my esophagus. I know baby food is no replacement for the yummy stuff you usually make, but hey - it comes in small jars and you just open it and eat. |

artichoke-good idea! I totally still sometimes eat baby food when I am sick (I think it is plum flavored?). It's one of the only things besides crackers and 7 up that will stay down. Wish I had though about it sooner, I would have been eating it this last week while I wasn't feeling well. _________________ Midnightsky Fibers

(ps, gastroscope - without sedation - worst. thing. ever. not excited to do that again. or especially ever have to do it to anybody...ewwwwwww)

LOL midnightsky - its tots my own fault.
1) the numbing spray only works for some people. apparently i have the world's strongest gag reflex (....that's what she said..)
2) i have an unjustifiable and totally nonscientific fear of sedation. of any kind. i don't want t3's, or anesthesia, or..anything. obv some are unavoidable, but if i can help it, i won't get sedated for things
i got 16 needles in my mouth for my wisdom teeth out. so yeah, my surgeon yesterday was cool with this but...DAMN was that procedure terrible.
3) i have a HUUUUuuuuuUUUUUGE exam next thursday and friday... the sedation stays in your system for 12 - 16 hours, where your memory is sketchy ...
i was not okay with this. losing 12 - 16 hours of studying = v. bad.
however, in the future, if i (god forbid) ever have to counsel patients on scopes without sedation, i'll def. recommend the sedation. gross.
TRON
PS flipside: i saw the inside of my stomachs. COOL _________________ Sun in my mouth: writing a joyful revolution |

Hey
Have you been tested for Giardia? It could be a parasite or something like that.

My friend picked this up in Tanzania and it made her really sick until she got tested and treated. |
