Stitch for Senate
As some of you may already know, yesterday was the 4-year anniversary of the United States' involvement in Iraq.Four years.
In order to bring light to this as well as to bring home the point that our troops should be over here and not over there, Cat Mazza of MicroRevolt has started a new project called Stitch For Senate.
The aim of this project is to knit helmet liners (as was commonly done for the troops by knitters during WWI and WWII) for every Senator of the United States. Once all the helmet liners have been collected, they will be sent to the Senate, where the Senators will have the chance to donate their liner to a soldier.

Crafting got you down?
Feeling like all your stitches are dropping? Or that your glue gun-related decisions are lackluster?Sometimes, when all those craft projects seem better in your head than in reality, it seems easier to just put the Dremel down and walk away. I've found that few things spurn me on like a little healthy competition, especially when I'm feeling uninspired.
There is a new competition over at Whipup to help whip (hee.) those of you back into shape who haven't been as craftatic lately as you'd like to be!

Whiplash is a 6-week long competition, with themes posted each Thursday. The challenge is to create something theme-related over the weekend...the short timeframe will challenge you to *do* instead of *think,* which tends to get in the way of our best ideas.
Go! Go! Go!
